What is DRX
DRX, which stands for Dry Run eXtra, is a high performance PBT formulation built on a strong crystalline structure. With the support of advanced additives, it provides exceptional wear resistance and dimensional stability that outperforms traditional POM-LF materials. Its ability to run with little to no lubrication creates cleaner and safer experience for fast paced beverage production environments.
 
This focus on dry running aligns with a growing industry priority around water reduction. As many beverage producers look for ways to improve sustainability and control costs, water usage has become a central focus. Processing and production alone can demand significant volumes each year, from nearly 30 million gallons in soft drink bottling to more than 40 million gallons in juice and dairy beverage facilities. Sustainability report details strides in energy conservation and decarbonization. 

ATLANTA, GA, February 27 – AMMEGA Group, global provider of belting solutions for conveying and power transmission, announced their Sustainability Report evaluating the progress made towards supporting the United Nations sustainable development goals and wider sustainable development. AMMEGA’s Energy Conservation Task Force achieved a 10% reduction in energy use across the entire AMMEGA Group. This initiative reflects a targeted approach to improving operational efficiency and reducing the environmental impact of production facilities globally. This is further supported by AMMEGA’s achievement of reducing its carbon intensity factor, measuring emissions per unit of production, by 34% since 2019.

The reporting period spans the fourth year of AMMEGA Group’s involvement in the Global Compact, from January 1st, 2023 to December 31st, 2023 and underlines AMMEGA’s commitment to energy conservation across operations. These efforts, which have been awarded by EcoVadis with a Gold Medal, include reduction in carbon intensity, development of products with eco-friendly materials, as well as pledge towards overall ethical business practices.

In the last 75 years, the world has seen profound changes across the technological, geopolitical, and economic landscapes. While today’s manufacturers have seen major advancements, they’ve also endured significant challenges and periods of uncertainty. For a company to thrive over such a long period of time is a testament to the way it does business. For that reason, we are incredibly proud to recognize Ammeraal Beltech’s 75-year anniversary.

Beyond the celebration, this milestone presents an opportunity to reflect on our success and the lessons learned along the way as we look ahead to the next 75 years – and a new mission to become the market leader for belting and conveying solutions across the Americas.

Our company started in 1950 with one extraordinary new baking belt. Developed by Thomas Ammeraal, it was capable of high performance in extreme conditions. Not only is this belt still in use today, but so is his legacy of innovation. Drainage capabilities – belts with perforations (also known as open belts) are required to allow air flow. However, at the same time, it is important to prevent the product from falling through the openings in the belt. Versatile applications: uni SNB nub top belt for vegetables, shrimp processing, and harsh environments

uni SNB nub top can be used in applications such as washing, de-watering, cooling, and mixing processes for vegetables, leafy greens, and other light or sticky products. It can also be used in shrimp glazing process, where it enhances hygiene and operational efficiency.

In shrimp processing, this belt can transport the product out of the water tanks on a slope without supports, so that it does not interfere with the inspection process.

What is our side-flexing uni 253 and 255 series?

The uni 253 and uni 255 are modular plastic chains that have been designed with a specific emphasis on plate thickness to overcome the challenges faced by the bakery, beverage, and glass container manufacturing industries.

These side flexing chain series ensure exceptional product stability during lateral movements and smooth transitions between chains and nastri modulari, providing maximum product safety throughout the entire conveying process.

uni 253 and uni 255 chains: what you need to know

 

Product details

–  The belt’s pitch is 25.4 mm (1″ in). The thickness equals 8.7 mm (0.34 in) for uni 253 and 12.7 mm (0.5 in) for uni 255.

–  Bevel, TAB, and magnetic hinges are available for uni 253. TAB and magnetic hinges are available for uni 255.

– The top surface for uni 253 can be flush grid (FG) or flat top (FT). The top surface for uni 255 is flat top (FT).

–  The belt fits industry standard 880 / 879 / 881 conveyor track.

– There are supporting products available. Sprockets are a must, and there are also components such as curves, tracks, wearstrips, etc.

Materiali

The series is available in different materials. Below you can learn more about the materials and colors used for this new chain and how their features suit the belt’s purpose:

POM D – standard blue food-grade material for chains for general applications.

PA6 – black food-grade thermoplastic material meant for bakery and glass bottling. Very strong, stiff, with a high resistance to wear.

PA6.6-GFH – black food-grade heat-stabilized thermoplastic material with glass fiber reinforcement. It’s even more resistant to wear, as the glass fiber contributes to increasing these properties. Its maximum permissible working temperature is 180 °C.

POM-DK – dark grey reinforced POM material – acetal with Kevlar enhanced lubrication for food containers, one-way glass bottles high-speed dry applications, or bottling (PET case packers/palletizers). It provides lower friction and better wear resistance in the long term. ​​

The standard default pin material for all 253 and 255 chains ​is stainless steel.
